Mezza9 :: Painter of Cirque

Mezzanine Beecomb “Mezza9” is an American impressionist and visionary artist known for her paintings of cirque. Studio Nebulon is located in Sausalito, California; except when the artist goes rogue and works amidst nature’s beauty.

The mythologies of Mezza9’s large-scale figurative paintings occur in the landscapes of the heart or of the Wilderness of the mind with a focus on the energies between people and nature in a sensual and spiritual exploration. The artist’s work is deeply rooted in the oneness of mankind and nature and her passion lies in this connection to source.

Since 2001 Mezza9 has been flowing on her path as a painter and is expanding into other mediums such as metal fabrication, installation, dance, movement arts, circus performance, puppetry, costume and experience designs, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Contemporary circus performers and flow artists inspire her subject matter. Through the exploration of these themes: performance, movement, nature and color vibration; Mezza9 is painting the myths of today and documenting the paradigm shifts and the archetypes of modernity. Mediums include acrylic, pastel, oil on wood and paper and metal.

Many of her works are sculptural with kinetic parts, varying heights, and uneven edges. Every wood panel is hand constructed.

Her paintings convey the blissful state of transcendence into Nebulon (sky/sea world of bliss) and the Wilderness, the outer limits of our imaginations.

The emotional magic that transpires during the painting process reveals something that wasn’t there before. This discovery can be compared to the magic in music, poetry, and love. Some call it a state of flow. I am fascinated by this bardo or in-between state. I call it Nebulon and strive to transport you to this place of delight in my art. I believe a painting can bring you to where the artist experienced flow during its creation...that the artist mind and viewer mind meet there in the Wilderness of Nebulon... that is the art that resonates; where viewer and artist meet, spirit beings in an awakened mind and open heart of oneness in the bardo state of flow, in connection with the source.
I invite you to experience Nebulon.
— Much gratitude, love and light to you. Namaste, Mezzanine
