Wilderness Headdress
2018
This all white headdress features seashells, naturally found deer antlers, beads, trim, and faux floral. It lights up with hidden, battery powered LED lights.
The fun of wearing this headdress is the grand width of it and the noise of the seashells clinking as it moves.
This wearable was first created for a white themed winter event at a residence in Berkeley, California. A versatile headpiece and always wild, the White Wilderness Headdress by Mezza9 has appeared at winter festivities, Halloween entertainment and on the desert at Burning Man.

Snow King Headdress
Russell Woods played a marvelous, regal Snow King on stilts for the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Menlo Park, California. December, 2018. Although no actual snow appeared…. anything seemed possible with the wonder-ous additions of Snow King and Queen on stilts and a Ballerina in a Snow Globe by Santa's Holiday of Wonders.
Hand wired beads gave this headress the feel of a royal jewel crown fit for a King. Pine branches added an organic feel and tucked away the wiring for the battery operated LED lights.
It was challenging to find a material light enough for this over-sized headdress, but I was very pleased with the natural look of the gauze and the weight of it and how it worked very similar to papier-mache.
I’ll continue to try adhesives as this piece did not turn out as light as I hoped it would. This was the first wearing. We’ll likely add more beads and sparkle for future events, and an extra strap at the back to help it stay erect.
